The Bull case referred by James Ball was decided on entirely different grounds. They were turned away because they were gay. In the NI case it was perfectly clear that the bakers were not discriminating because the claimant was gay (they had supplied him with cakes before) but because of the slogan he wanted on the cake. It was quite clear that a heterosexual couple would have received the same refusal.
