Anon 09:48, it's not just "monotheistic" religions or their adherents that revolt from the idea of "homosexual marriage". Nearly all religions and peoples of the world would have done so any time this last few thousand years - and most of them probably still do. One shouldn't have to plead Christian beliefs - even if sincerely held - in order to be free to refuse to countenance something that (practically) a world consensus has hitherto regarded with ridicule or horror.
