In employment cases an NDA is essential to protect the employee from being victimised and the employer from allegations of victimisation. And employee who is settling in good faith will agree to one and an employee who is settling in good faith will not agree to one is not settling in good faith. The fact that it stops the employee from talking to outside busybodies such as Members of Parliament is neither here nor there.
