Is the Minister actually a robot? She trots out the same prepared line at every opportunity.
It is about time The Law Society realised that talking to the MoJ actually achieves very little.
Austerity is not over for the justice system. The funding of the system and of legal aid affects the citizen's experience of the Justice system. Making forms easier to fill in is welcome but what is actually required is more court staff to cope with more court sittings and more Judges.
This will also necessitate more Probation Officers, more CAFCASS, more CPS staff, more prosecutors and better legal aid remuneration so future defence solicitors and advocates can be recruited and trained before it is too late.
