Re: increased Probate Registry fees. If such fees are to be increased in the year head, perhaps the extra money could be used to pay for a new stamping tool for the Probate Registry seal? The current Registry stamp has been way past its best for donkeys' years. On the most recent Grants my Firm received, we could hardly see the embossed seal on the paper!

Re: charges for Probate work. The Firm I work with has charged no more than 1% + VAT of an Estate's value since time immemorial. No Executor client has ever complained about this charging method, particularly when they realise that it's a fixed percentage. Other Firms' charging methods are available for those who don't like the percentage method.
