"Asked how long he would like the process to take, Prior pointed out that the process depends on many factors, such as how many properties are in the chain and the kind of property. He said: 'I don't mind if the process lasts 19 weeks as long as people know it lasts 19 weeks, where you understand what's going on in those 19 weeks. It's where you've got whole periods where nothing seems to happen or you get no information.' "....................

No problem Mr Prior. I'm sure all Conveyancers would be very happy to provide all their clients with long winded daily bulletins every day about their transactions complete with detailed explanations whenever required - together with all the myriad of other tasks, legal and otherwise, which they are expected to perform and all for a lousy £500 or £600 reward. Now how much was that hourly rate? Down from 75p to 50p it would seem!!

If the bucket shops were forced to both do the job and price properly, there would be no need for conveyancers to take on so much work at such ridiculously cheap rates just to make a reasonable living and they may then also have more time and inclination to deal with their clients' little foibles.

As usual, it all really comes down to money!
