re the comment by Anonymous on 8 November 2018 14:53 GMT, in the days of the HIP, I often received a HIP for a leasehold flat expressed to contain a copy of the lease, where the document was an extended short form lease, and no copy of the earlier lease containing all the covenants was included in the HIP, and received a mystified response when I pointed out to the seller's solicitor (who often had not bothered to check the contents of the HIP) that the title documents were incomplete. Back in those days, any idiot could compile a HIP, and a lot of them did.
