I am 75 and my third wife whom I have been with 26 years is 67.
I left school at all but 16 with 5 O levels and have been qualified 52 years.
my wife and I went to the same primary school and I to the local all male grammar she to the mixed one.
she had no A levels and left at 17 but has no qualification despite being the brightest person I know. she manages my firm of 12 solicitors with a rod of iron.
her somewhat younger brother went to university albeit I don't know what it did for him as I have no contact with him.
So because she was a woman she was basically ignored.
I lived on my own from about 17. my stepfather once said a week or so before we all split up that ''I will hit my wife whenever I want'' . I had told him not to after my 16th birthday as well as never hit me again or he would die. I told him ''you can hit your wife for all I care but never if she also happens to be my mother''. he got the message but my point is that his attitude was common those days as was that of my wife Angela's parents to promote the son to university but forget the daughter.
take 10 or 15 years off Angela's age and you probably have the age group for judges.
forget all this equality and diversity stuff.
the different sort of behaviour Angela and I experienced may not be common in the posher backgrounds of many but are possibly more prevalent than is widely known because we have either fought through behaviour of that sort and got on with our lives or if not need counselling more than some of the modern whingers and whiners.
It will balance itself out but let it happen naturally and please those in power don't force it so as to virtue signal how marvellous you think you are.
