This is an absolute disgrace.

Mr Philip knows full well how much the SRA spent on the case; and, if he doesn't, he can easily find out. I suspect it was many times the figure (£1.5million) which has been mentioned. The truth is that the figure was probably more like £5million. If Mr Philip disputes that, he can give us the precise figure.

The refusal to disclose correspondence with the MoD is equally disgraceful. That correspondence was deployed during the public hearing of the case by the SDT and there is no good reason for refusing to disclose it.

Mr Philip also knows very well that this was not "just another case". If it was "just another case", why do the SRA Board minutes (18 July 2018) record that it formed part of a presentation to the Board by Mr Philip? Does he make presentations to the Board on every case in the SDT? Of course not.

All of this is the behaviour of an organisation whose misguided arrogance knows no bounds. It fails to practise what it preaches and regards itself as answerable to no one.
