Someone needs to put a request to the SRA under its (comical) Transparency Code, asking for details of the costs incurred by the SRA in the prosecution and the appeal and a breakdown of those costs between (i) the SRA's investigation, (ii) solicitors' fees and (iii) counsel's fees. If the SRA is formally refusing to give this information, it should put forward a proper explanation for that refusal.

Of course, a refusal under the Code cannot be challenged (beyond a pointless internal review), which means that the Code is a load of rubbish. Nevertheless, someone should ask the SRA the question via the whatdotheyknow website, so that everyone can read the pitifully evasive responses which will then emerge from the SRA's Information Compliance Department.
