Anon @ 14.10 of course all clients think that their Solicitors overcharge them. Thanks to years of political meddling and inept regulation by a self-interested SRA, we have seen our clients morph into consumers. As consumers, they expect freebies, BOGOF offers etc. The idea of having actually to pay a proper price, if any at all, is now just absurd to a consumerate indoctrinated into the belief that the provision of legal services is no different, in any respect, to the retail sale of, say, a tin of baked beans.
