Solicitors need to get a bit organised. A proportion of the Law Society Council is elected each year. Solicitors need to elect Council members who will, between them, resolve to take back control of the functions of the SRA, abolish it as a separate (unelected and unaccountable) body. It will take a few years before the majority of the present LS Council members have been removed from office and replaced by new members with the backbone to deal with the SRA but if we start with next year's Council elections we may get somewhere following 2021 elections.
