intrigued I googled 'gig economy' - "A gig economy is a free market system in which temporary positions are common and organizations contract with independent workers for short-term engagements". I doubt any of the firms mentioned would see themselves or the solicitors that work in them as part of the gig economy. I've been in such a practice for 5 years and wouldn't go back to the traditional model for anything. Pay and conditions are by far and away better, I'm a happier lawyer and my clients are well served (according to them).
