What I find exasperating is the attack from both ends. SRA (and many commentators below) argue of the need for solicitors to maintain the highest standards of fidelity, but yet we are repeatedly treated by SRA policies as pedlars of merchandise - products to be commoditised and packaged to consumers at the lowest possible price (and from next Spring, without even the need to regulated).

So pick a side. If they want to hold solicitors to the highest standard, then treat the profession with some respect and maintain the barriers that justify that qualification. Or else abandon it all and disband the SDT and SRA. But either way, stop the double standards and hypocrisy.
