Way too harsh. As others have said this was not akin to them having their hands in the till. It was reacting badly to pressure of work. Yes it is serious and yes it should be disciplinary but to end someone's career? That is every bit as toxic in mentality as the environment Miss James found herself in.

As an equity partner we do have to push staff to produce. We all have to justify our existence but to create an atmosphere as described is shameful.

This kind of witch hunt mentality will not encourage openness and in all likelihood will increase this kind of thing happening.
