I work for a national insurance law firm...

Case loads around double of what they're mean to be, "overtime" approved on a weekly basis as the "norm" just to cope with the said case loads and many a stressed fee earner. Others also stay late or work weekends without overtime just so they don't get behind.

In an office/department of 35+, four have been signed off with stress as far as I'm aware and this is the norm for this particular firm.

Any complaints? Well, I was told that "nobody's forcing you to stay here". But it's okay, we had a "mental health awareness" month or something earlier in the year.

Surely things have got to get better than this?
