Good point at 12.58. When I was practising, and prosecuting regularly, a deep breath would have to be taken at some "punch up" cases. All too often the prosecution witnesses were the gang that had come off worst in some inter town thuggery. The practical point was that the only way you could mount a good affray case, was by taking sides. Otherwise you had no witnesses, because everyone sensible had legged it once they saw a mega fight in the street.
