Comment

The plan worked. We did nothing and watched as local firms really went into great detail with their conveyancing fees and disbursements which has been very useful. We have seen that we are far too cheap, particularly for properties over £500k and we need to up our charges to at least £200 plus VAT for acting for a lender. It came as a surprise to find firms charging £1350.00 plus VAT to do a purchase of a freehold at £275K excluding acting for a lender. Hitherto we had thought everyone was charging about the same.
