@Michael Martin

The suggestion that politicians are acting in a self-serving, deceitful and dishonest manner merely by honouring the result of democratic referendum seems rather hysterical.

I see nothing surprising in such honouring either. We honour democratic results all the time: General Elections, Local Elections, Other referendums etc. It seems that what you are suggesting is a complete rejection of democracy itself in order to reverse one particular result that you don't like. That is untenable.

The argument that, two years on, we now know more about the issues is superficially attractive. But it must be rejected. In reality, you are trying to create a 'Heads I win, tails you lose' scenario. If Remain wins a hypothetical second referendum, you just take that as the binding answer. If, however, Leave wins again, you refuse to accept it (just like you refused to accept the first vote) and in two years time, you clamour for a third referendum for exactly the same reasons.

And so you continue to force us to vote until you get the result you want.

We are not voting until we get the result you want. We already voted. The vote was Leave. We are Leaving.
