Job Five, thank you for having a moral conscience and for your excellent example explaining how this was the very same excuse that bus operators used to justify their refusal to hire Asian workers in the 70s.

I have read the majority of comments here with a sense of profound sadness and shame that my fellow solicitors should seek to justify racism in the legal profession with mealy-mouthed excuses and morally bankrupt arguments. If these are the views of educated and supposedly enlightened people then it is a very sad day for us all and for this profession that I love so much.

Like you, I am also inclined to be grateful that the public have not responded with the type of bigotry displayed in the majority of these comments.

Now please feel free to vote down my comment also. I really do not expect any better.
