Happily, working it out for ourselves is exactly what Brexit is about. Unhappily, that Lady Hale can't decide whether that's for the better or the worse is a sad indictment of her loyalty and her faith in the British people. Happily, there are 17.4 million Brexiteers who have such faith and loyalty. Unhappily, they are under-represented in Westminster. Happily, Lady Hale's Supreme Court colleague pointed out in the Miller case, that having invoked Article 50 we are leaving the EU 'with the inevitability of a speeding bullet'. Happy New Year!
