There are several useful messages in this helpful article. As a general comment, I encourage all practising solicitors to try to find time to read the LSB’s business plan and to respond to the consultation with your views. When life is busy it can be difficult to grab an opportunity to engage with strategic issues such as the LSB’s vision for our profession. All those urgent tasks in the to-do list like earning a living by keeping clients happy take precedence over the important task of keeping up-to-speed with regulatory consultations. However, there is truth in the adage ‘knowledge is power’ and the power behind strategic nous is not to be underestimated.
