Sadly the system penalises many people, you may be poor, have no income from a struggling business, or perhaps you rent out a property like many who became forced into being a landlord because they couldn’t afford not to, but if your property is over a certain amount you cannot get legal aid. You may not be in a position to raise capital from the property, or to remortgage to do an equity release, you are trapped, but still you cannot get legal aid, so you do not have access to justice? There is no one size fits all!
