I'm just guessing, but I note that he's an advocate in a firm of solicitors. It is possible, I suppose, that at some point papers that he was working on and that were to form part of a bundle to counsel, were on the same table as a small bag of cocaine. It does not strain the imagination to conceive of a scenario in which the bag of cocaine got swept up in the papers, placed into a box file and then sent to chambers, where it was seen for the first time by counsel.
