Quite a lot of people do something practical about it, but their efforts rarely get any press coverage. The documents and information which have recently emerged about the Leigh Day case are the result of someone - not a journalist - spending a lot of time on FOI requests and the like. No journalist was prepared to put that time in. If you recall, Paul Philip's position was that he would not disclose any correspondence and would not reveal the level of costs. Journalists would have left it at that.

What the profession then does about the matter is up to it. But there seems to be a perception that nothing can be done, precisely because the SRA is unaccountable.
