The experts from the tech industry ( like the environmental industry ) are successfully selling us things that don't live up to the representations/expectations we buy into.

We learn nothing from history. The expert who gave us the Titanic did not build an unsinkable ship, the expert cure for morning sickness only gave us thalidomide and new technology will not deliver a cheap reliable criminal /civil justice system.
If it seems too good to be true, guess what?
