I remember at a conference some years ago during the Home Information Packs (HIPS) era, a Law Society council member (IIRC, called Denis Cameron) told the audience that during a meeting with the relevant government department, when they were working through the proposed contents for HIPS, Mr Cameron asked "what about unregistered land?" to which the reply was "what's that?".
