Thanks but I don’t think the involvement of lawyers is relevant, the system works the same whether lawyers are involved or not. The idea of a triage is to identify for example those cases which require early intervention. This should in my view apply to all cases where contact to a parent has been stopped which could equally be either for good or bad reasons. In any contact case the hurdles of the requirements to attend a MIAM then await the first directions appointment and the safeguarding letter from Cafcass results in no judicial consideration of the situation for at least 8 weeks, an intolerable period which too often creates a status quo. Many cases which turn into bitter acrimonious intractable disputes could be resolved far quicker with appropriate intervention.
