Disturbingly, this is the second time in as many weeks something of this nature has happened. The last time, it was Johnny Mercer MP stirring up hatred against lawyers who represent litigants with claims against the Ministry of Defence, which was directly responsible for slews of individuals calling for acts of violence to be perpetrated against such legal representatives on Mr Mercer's Facebook page, "Johnny for Plymouth".

The sooner that social media outlets, most notably Facebook, start adopting a more robust stance against those who actively seek to launch hate campaigns against lawyers and their clients, the better.

The ongoing failure to do so is an unconscionable affront to the effective administration of justice.
