Anon @13:28 - not entirely the fault of the media, as Anon @13:47 says, it is also the fault of the politicians/civil servants who lined up to give ignorant/deliberately false quotes to the Daily Mail a couple of weeks ago vilifying Tuckers over this case.

Either directly or by implication these were attacks not just on the firm, but on all of us and on the rule of law in general.

Peaches like this from Lord Tebbit: "Put simply, he should not be allowed to claim from the legal aid system while committing an act of illegality." or this from an unnamed 'senior Government figure', "The solicitors may say he has been instructing them by email... Solicitors would have the option of deciding their client isn’t being cooperative, which means that the legal aid certificate would be revoked." simply serve to fuel the ire of the angry Twitter masses.
