Slightly o/t but I have ehard or read somewhere tht a drink/drive offence will get you banned from judicial office or silk for twenty years. Can anyone confirm or deny it?

Quite right if it is true. The days when two High Court judges were breathalysed and went on sitting are over and so they should be.
