The SRA is, as usual, being defensive instead of engaging the concerns of the profession with an open mind. Within this one article, we see them trying to suck and blow at the same time:

According to the Gazette: "The SRA stresses it does not want to receive reports or allegations that are unmeritorious or frivolous. Individuals should report concerns to their firm’s compliance officer initially..."

Two paragraphs later, Philip justifies the SRA's approach, saying: "She had the means to report it confidentially to us. "

Let's see how this works: you go to your compliance officer to report a concern, and if you get no satisfaction there, stand aside while the SRA queries the compliance officer, all while guarding your confidentiality jealously.

You're having a laugh.
