I've been before HHJ Carr before, though quite a few years ago, and found her to be generally very good. However, this clearly went beyond what is acceptable. It is always wrong to use a position of power to bully others, on pain of various threats, into doing what they require. This is especially so when its a judge. When will judges learn that this behaviour is not acceptable and they should treat everyone in the court with the same respect they command of others. I'm sure this has been said many times before, but if this were a solicitor acting in this way to a client, third party or judge, they would be facing serious disciplinary action, probably ending in strike off, and disproportionate costs.
