I wholly support Linda's approach but, unfortunately and deliberately, the SRA books no mitigation on the basis of severe stress or bullying.

In fact, as i understand the mealy mouthed platitudes from the SRA, any solicitor who is subsequently informed of wrongdoing or breaches and does not immediately report it faces being struck off with costs.

For those who have not yet cottoned on, the SRA is moving towards a small number of 'super-firms' and looking to do away with pesky smaller firms.

We know through the Leigh Day fiasco that the SRA is not averse to dealing directly with the government.

I suppose it completes the circle.

What we really need is an independently-minded and just regulator with real world experience and not a quangocrat.
