The downside of being 'considerate' to LiPs, along the lines that the MoJ seem to wish, is that the more you do so, the more the LiPs will expect it - until a point is reached at which, effectively, you become their unpaid legal and procedural adviser. For some LiPs, this will be for 'comfort blanket' reasons. For other LiPs, this will be because that they've enough nouse to realise that they are getting something for nothing - and only fools pay for something that can be had for free!
