This is a far more serious injury to the profession than I had at first feared. The injury it will do, it will do within the sphere of public trust. No longer will the public be able to trust in any notion of fearlessness or flavourlessness. Split as many ways as we already are, this will divorce us yet farther from the hearts of those we serve: the public.
