I think what has failed to be stated is that the area has developed since its implementation- much was untested and consent and reliance on legitimate interests has entirely evolved since- so I think it is rather unfair to blame lawyers they only advised on what was the general guidance at the time. Saying that I have contacted clients and stated that the sector has evolved and that I wish to revisit and update to ensure they are to date with developing practice and I will do that within the original quote but they are my own quality standards and I doubt much is needed in any event. But to blame lawyers is disingenuous- no one knew how things would play out in this evolving area when first implemented and lawyers had to be cautious.
