08.49 usual annual audit by Accountants, or sometimes by LAA.
Our letter to client says if they don't respond or collect when they say they will (we don't post them) we will destroy.

Destruction/client collection takes place each January following our year end in September. That gives the accountants sufficient time.

Yes, there is an electronic copy of some of the documents.

Claims - if the client is going to sue he'll need his file so he's probably kept it or agreed to destruction. We do keep self protection documents which we define as "what do we need to defend a claim that we settled this for too little or abandoned without good cause"

Caveat - we are a 5 fee earner firm only dealing with Clin Neg work.
