Some bright ideas here - but none which address the issue of the savvy client who creates his own 'file' and uses that to support allegations that 'you failed to advise me concerning .....' which the solicitor may deny but cannot corroborate because he has destoyed his own file. The 'I'm certain I did advise because it's my standard practice to do so ....' defence won't cut much ice in these circumstances.
