The difference between Inheritance Act claims and most other claims is that permission of the Court is needed to bring a late Inheritance Act claim. No permission is needed to bring a late contractual or tortious claim; a Limitation Act defence has to be pleaded and a standstill agreement is an agreement not to plead it.
