"With respect" - ahh that old "with respect but really I think you're a moron" cliché.

I fully understand how politics works thank you. Or doesn't work.
A huge majority (494 to 122) of our "elected representatives" voted to give effect to the referendum result. It is up to Parliament to now see it through.

How it is seen through is the Gordian knot. But of your options you are missing out the third - a no-deal Brexit. This appears the only solution at this stage as I cannot see the EU agreeing to extend the time limit and rescinding Article 50 seems a non-starter.

It most certainly isn't ideal, but at least everyone on both sides of the water can then get on with things. But then I am reminded of Liam Fox:

“The free trade agreement that we will have to do with the European Union should be one of the easiest in human history. We are already beginning with zero tariffs, and we are already beginning at the point of maximal regulatory equivalence, as it is called. In other words, our rules and our laws are exactly the same....

The only reason that we wouldn’t come to a free and open agreement is because politics gets in the way of economics.”
