Elizabeth - there’s nothing wrong with taking out ATE on certain low value PI cases where it’s justified.

What’s never justified is the undisclosed commission element.

I have no idea if the client in this case has been charged £350 for ATE to facilitate a commission payment that the Defendant benefitted from. But it seems a little odd that it’s priced at this level given the fact that these post LASPO policies are worth comfortably less than £100 each.

For the firms that are churning through these cases and taking out ATE on every one, that means there are hundreds of thousands of pounds client money being taken from clients.

That can’t be right.
