I am not condoning the practice of ill-prepared registration applications but as most Land Registry applications are made following completion, I don't see the logic in Land Registry claiming that it slows down the Conveyancing process. Presumably the statement was made to earn the support of the public.

It only slows down the delivery of titles to the Lender which of course is to be avoided wherever possible. As the majority of requisitions I see are in relation to the Sellers mortgage it follows that some Lenders need to improve their record on discharges.
