As someone who had the misfortune of using a 'factory conveyancer' allocated to me by my lender, I know first-hand how frustrating the mistakes can be. I was going through a remortgage and changing ownership from 3 parties to just myself - my conveyancer managed to put one of the other party's names as the new owner. Thankfully I spotted it. Throughout the process they were useless, had no attention to detail and blamed the Land Registry for delays, when it was nothing to do with them.

I'm now going through a house sale and purchase with a conveyancer I've chosen myself and it's been a very pleasant experience so far.

I personally welcome Land Registry publishing their findings - I think it will help encourage any shoddy/lazy conveyancers to up their game, helping improve the image of the profession for the whole profession.
