While I appreciate your points, facts are that normally a CMC can, as another commenter has pointed out, also organise repairs, alternative hire etc. all in one. This obviously appeals to clients/customers.

About the quality of staff, I have dealt with some absolutely shocking PI solicitors – rude, disorganised, possibly incompetent – and also dealt with some excellent CMC staff. Being part of a firm or CMC does not automatically determine the quality of service or the competency of the individual. I’m sure we could all name some very poor quality firms and solicitors if we didn’t mind our comments being taken down.

Your assertation that there is “absolutely no need for CMCs” may be true – but there certainly is demand for them.
