The Solicitors Persecution Authority operates on ipse dixit not law. Its prounouncement on SDLT avoidance was grotesque. Disciplining a solicitor for carrying out lawful instructions? Even HMRC accept that tax avoidance schemes under the rule of law must be dealt with by challenge, APNs, DOTAS, interest and penalties AND only if they do not work.

The SPA is above the law. It is very close to and derives its authority from a Higher Power.
