Whilst I'm 100% behind the condemnation of these actions by Brunei, I have to say the comments reflect badly on the society, and also society as a whole.

I say that because it seems if, like Brunei, you don't contribute massively to the UK economy "those in charge" will post comments like this story.

However if you throw a load of cash/investment at the UK, then that's free reign to do what you like, quite literally. Examples being Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and to a much larger extent, China.

China have waged a war of ethnic cleansing, imprisonment, torture and death for supporters of Tibet, The Dalai Lama, Uyghurs, and anyone who speaks out about Human Rights. They have even started calling prisons "re-education centres" as a PR exercise.

I'd really like to know the reason for the disparity ...
