I'm a lawyer, and I don't regard myself as a member of 'the gliitterati' (whoever they may be). However I do have a number of gay family members and colleagues and I regard it as abhorrent that they should be at risk of punishment in any place around the world because of who they happen to love. I also regard it as a mark of a civilised society that punishment for actual criminal activity - that is something which harms others, rather than merely offends some person's particular moral code - should be both proportionate and aimed at rehabilitation wherever possible.
I shall not trouble to respond to the 'Brexit' comments - they merely betray a further lack of rational and fact-based analysis and I therefore assume could not have been made by any sensible lawyer.
