I was a policeman for for a long time before obtaining a degree by correspondence etc etc..

During my service, I've been attacked with a knife, axe, big chain, dogs, shot at, drunks, spat at , punched, kicked, huge fight that ended up in a greenhouse with plants pots and all sorts of 'gardening tools' being used............ starting duty at 7.00am, finishing at 2.00am - 8 hours being piddled on whilst hiding in a ground to catch drug dealers. Having Theresa May tell us that we were/are worthless, deserve a pittance of a pay rise whilst giving herself a nice juicy pay rise.

Finding out in the early hours in September 1999 that my friend PC Raja Ahmed from Greater Manchester Police had been murdered whilst on duty.

The list goes on.

Good points - catching murderers/robbers/burglars and downright dishonest and despicable people. Oh - some ladies did like the uniform so we did have some perks. LOL

Stressful job - be a junior doctor, soldier, social worker with a thankless caseload, drug counsellor. ..........................

I feel blessed being a lawyer. Stressed sometimes, but not as bad as those days in the police.
