I think this is great news. I have excellent client care skills but I am not a corporate drone. I am looking to take advantage of the new regime as soon as possible as I do not want to subsist on a poxy salary watching my hard work prop up a creaking partnership carrying heavy debts. I am also done with greedy useless recruitment agents (not to mention market-hawking estate agents). Time for direct solicitor-client relationships with less interference. Regulation and insurance requirements are the responsibility of the SRA. Compliance is the responsibility of solicitors. Failure to comply leads to SDT hearings. The Law Society are over-extending themselves I feel.
